Valencia County Arts Meet the Artists

About the Artist
Since I began art, I have painted a wide variety of subjects from portraits to paper sacks, but the majority of my work is still lifes, including many florals. I like working in detail and am particularly drawn to subjects with a strong play of light and shadow. I enjoy the challenge of painting reflections and have set up many of my still lifes on glass as well as painted many scenes involving water.

Not having begun my art until after college, career, and family, I look forward to continuing art in some form for many years to come. For the near future, I plan to explore more varied subjects-as long as they present a challenge to me artistically.

I have been fortunate to participate in many juried shows and have received several awards and honors since seriously beginning art.

I am a signature Member of the Pastel Society of New Mexico.
